HYDROVOLTA GAINING SIGNIFICANT VISIBILITY THANKS TO BLUEINVEST

"HydroVolta is a Belgian start-up that proposes a sustainable method of producing drinking water from seawater, addressing the global water shortage in an economical and ecological way. Through the EU BlueInvest Readiness Assistance programme, the start-up developed a better understanding of the financial concepts essential for its growth. In addition, HydroVolta gained visibility from the BlueInvest events and pitching sessions, meeting prospective investors and networking with potential customers."

"We will need to treat saline water so people can drink it and industry can use it,’ said George Brik, chief executive officer of HydroVolta. ‘But with the current technologies, desalination requires high investments and high operational costs. On top of that, existing technology uses high amounts of energy and chemicals."
Belgium to extract drinking water from the sea in 2026
11 August 2022, Brussels times:
"In Nieuwpoort, Belgian companies will soon draw water from the sea in order to create clean drinking water, according to Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws. The technology to do this already exists, but Belgian start-up HydroVolta is the only company in the world to have made the process cheaper and more ecological on a larger scale."
